The Motor PIX project faced significant challenges in integrating automation into the quality pipeline. There was a latent need to improve Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies and enhance test traceability. The central objective was to ensure much more control and transparency in scenario coverage, all within an agile environment with very tight deadlines.
Zappts' Role
To solve the problem, the QA team implemented structured automation using Cypress and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development), which considerably improved test traceability and control. Discovery meetings were also established to ensure alignment before the start of sprints. This approach enabled continuous process monitoring, even without the constant presence of a QA professional overseeing every step.
Results
The automation directly increased the reliability and security of the Motor PIX. The team eliminated repetitive tasks and achieved clear test traceability through the use of the Zephyr tool. With the new process, the team gained autonomy to generate test plans independently. Furthermore, the application of BDD with Gherkin improved communication between areas, significantly accelerating the delivery pace.
