"We had a non-negotiable deadline to modernize our system before the harvest season started. The volume of telemetry and geospatial data generated in the field by our machines is massive, and processing it on-premises did not give us the agility we needed. Zappts acted with top-tier data engineering, using ETL to migrate our operation to Oracle cloud in record time and optimizing all our queries."

Client (Raízen)

Client Challenge

The project's strategic challenge lay in the critical need to migrate the monitoring system for data generated by agricultural machines operating directly in the field. The previous ecosystem was responsible for collecting a high volume of usage data, as well as essential information about machine maintenance and various daily operation parameters.

Zappts' Role

To solve this technological bottleneck, our engineering team executed the data migration from an older version to a significantly newer version of the system. The transition was carried out through ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, meeting the deadline imposed by the start of the harvest season, which was just weeks away. The operation moved the immense volume of data from an on-premises local infrastructure to a cloud-based Oracle database. To overcome the challenge of processing this massive amount of information within extremely short time windows, Zappts applied advanced Database techniques, ensuring that queries were rigorously optimized and executed within the time requirements demanded by the operation.

Results

The project elevated the company's agricultural management level, which now features real-time monitoring and operational alert sending. The efficient integration of geospatial and telemetry data enabled direct optimization of agricultural machine operations. The delivered solution was structured to operate using 4G networks, enabling uninterrupted, real-time collection of field equipment information, including geolocation data and critical alarms.
